The best part of summer in the mountains of Western North Carolina is the weather. It’s the perfect time to get moving, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the outdoors. Here’s what a perfect day in Franklin looks like to us!
Morning
Last weekend, we took a morning walk to the Greenway, just a few blocks from Sanctuary Village. The 5+ mile long trail runs along the Little Tennessee River and is the perfect place in town for walking or bicycling through nature.
The secluded Walasi Trail is our favorite part of the Greenway. We saw deer as we walked and stopped at one of the trailside benches to enjoy the sounds of the birds and the flowing water. We also found wild blackberry bushes along the side of the trail, and they’re almost ripe enough to pick!
Following our wonderful walk, we stopped at the 828 Cafe for breakfast. We indulged in guava french toast and a giant omelet! It was just the fuel we needed to take our kayaks out for an adventure back on the Little Tennessee River.
Afternoon
We spent the late afternoon relaxing at home and catching up on emails. Since we have in-town high-speed internet in Sanctuary Village, we can work remotely and easily stay in touch with family, friends, and work.
Evening
There is nightlife in this lovely little town. In the evening, we started out with a relaxing time at Lazy Hiker Brewery on Main Street before checking out the newest restaurant in town, Leo’s Cafe Italia. You have to try their woodfired pizza!
We love everything that Franklin offers. Living downtown gives us a chance to enjoy all of it as often as we want! To schedule a private showing of the homes currently available in Sanctuary Village, email us today at ContactUs@SanctuaryVillage.com
