Mountain High Music, Craft & Car Show in Franklin, NC

Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts

In Franklin, North Carolina, the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts is known for the wide variety of entertainment that graces its stage each year. There are musicians, talent competitions, magicians, Broadway musicals, and much more to see in this theatre. But on Saturday, October 14, for the third year in a row, the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts is bringing a different type of entertainment to our beautiful town with their Mountain High Music, Craft & Car Show.

Live Music

This event, which takes place outdoors around the theatre, will feature three different live bands this year. The morning will begin with some good ‘ol Mountain Bluegrass music by Korn Bread Kreek. Then at lunchtime, the music will transition into Rock N’ Soul music by the V8 and finally American Folk music by A. Lee Edwards Trio.

Crafts

An array of unique craft vendors set up shop for this event, providing a great opportunity for early Christmas shopping. Visitors will find clothing, handmade accessories, holiday decorations, woodwork products, and much more when perusing through the vendor booths. And, of course, there will also be a mouthwatering selection of food and drink from various vendors.

Cars

Car lovers will be pleased to hear that the parking lot beside the Smoky Mountain Center will be filled to the brim with a collection of dozens of unique cars. The owners of the vehicles have taken such time and effort to restore and preserve the majesty of these nearly extinct Makes and Models, and walking through the lineup will surely make you feel at least a little nostalgic. So grab a lemonade and take a stroll down memory lane as the live music fills the air.

This event only comes once a year, and even though this is only its third year, it has already grown into a very worthwhile way to spend a Saturday with friends and family. The Franklin Chamber of Commerce is working in partnership with the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts to make this event a success, and admission is free for everyone.
