“Country in is the air!”

And the Macon County Fair is coming to Franklin in less than two weeks. Each year, Macon County welcomes the arrival of Fall with the perfect outdoor event for both locals and visitors alike. The family-friendly fun will begin on September 20 at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center just off Highway 441 and will continue through September 23.

The Macon County Fair provides an excellent opportunity for the participants of Macon County 4-H to showcase all of their hard work and win prizes for their success. Animal shows during the fair will include rabbits, horses, goats, chickens, cows, lambs, and pigs.

And if you’re hoping to find some delicious country food at the fair, you won’t be disappointed! The event will feature a BBQ Supper under the main Pavilion, a feast that isn’t to be missed. Additionally, the fair will host a Best Cake & Pie Contest, followed by a Cake & Pie Auction. Yum!

In addition to the shows and food, this year’s Macon County Fair will also include craft and food vendors, a Harvest Sale, animal costume contests, a tractor driving contest, a kids’ pedal tractor pull contest, and more!

The Macon County Fair is just one of the many festivals you’ll experience while living or visiting Franklin, NC.
